Since joining Morgan Latif, I have taken on the role as the CSR & Volunteering Champion, which means that I have the responsibility for organising charity events and fundraising that will help us give back to society and live up to our value of Empathy.

This year, we have voted to support Mind UK as our charity of the year 2023.

Mind UK offers mental health support, advice and campaigns to improve services, awareness and understanding of all mental health issues. This is a cause close to my heart, having suffered with mental health issues most of my life.

Statistically, 1 in 4 people suffer from a mental health condition and the greatest killer of men under the age of 35 is suicide.

That is why we believe that fundraising for this charity is so important, and by concentrating all our efforts on one charity for a year, we hope to make a real difference.

From a company perspective, mental health support is important to keep everyone happy, healthy and safe. Recently, our Senior Candidate Consultant, Grace Dengel, became a Mental Health First Aider so Morgan Latif can offer its employees professional mental health support. This also means that we can deal with clients and candidates more empathetically too. By choosing Mind as our charity of the year, we hope to raise awareness for mental health issues in a corporate setting as well as help those get support who really need it.

In 2023, I will be organising events across the year to help us raise as much as we can for Mind, and we hope that through these events we will increase our team cohesion and collaboration which we can then take into our work. In April, we are planning on taking part in London’s Tough Mudder to get us all outdoors, working together and raising needed awareness for mental health.

Please keep an eye out for our updates on Morgan Latif’s LinkedIn to see how we’re getting on with our charity work and how you can help support the cause.
