Morgan Latif Presents – Coaching You Through Crisis: Episode 6

Author: Sam Latif

01.07.2020

Read time: 4 minutes

In this episode, we discuss the pivotal role of “human energy” and “inner space” in leadership.  Our “inner space” tends to widen as we give attention to and nurture awareness of our four sources of energy and wisdom: body, heart, mind, soul. We explore also how coaching can be an effective way of both widening this space we grow in and into and listening even more to our inner guidance. Boris is the author of “Chief Energy Officer” and guides us through this journey..

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Ultimately, getting different results is the result of seeing differently.
  • Our space in which we operate and lead expands when we see more, and exclude less.
  • We only see what we pay attention to, and that includes our energy, reflected in our State of Heart. Our State of Heart is an inner dashboard informing us, moment to moment, about the quality of our thought and perspective. With awareness comes choice.
  • When we’re engaging in a coaching relationship, we’re literally forming a fine “instrument”, made to play and perceive more of our perfectly imperfect symphony.
  • Growing as leaders is a function of growing our “inner space”. As our “inner space” evolves, we can better accommodate and make sense of what is happening in our “outer space” – at work and at home. We become even more “response-able“.
  • Our inner space, from where we lead, grows as we nurture our witnessing capacity of our own and others’ state of heart, state of mind, state of body and what is meaningful to us.
  • To navigate in an increasingly complex world, turning to our inner guidance in addition to our intellect, becomes essential, not optional.
  • Our capacity to be in the here and now is a doorway to be in touch with that inner guidance and intuition.
  • We are innately healthy. Resilience is a function of accessing that innate capacity and wisdom vs adding what we believe is missing.
  • Key areas to start with:
    • Ask yourself: what would become possible if accepted that I always “wobble” and listened to my inner “gyroscope” – my State of Heart – to adjust moment to moment.
    • Ask more often: What is my State of Heart, right now?
